What we collect

Your email address, when you buy the book or join the newsletter.
Purchase records: order reference, amount, currency, date, and the book purchased.
Download records: the time-limited tokens used to deliver your file.
Any message you send us by email, so we can reply and keep support history.
Basic server logs needed for security and reliability.

We do not see or store your full card details. Payment is handled by Stripe on Stripe hosted pages. There are no customer accounts and no passwords to manage.

Why we use it

To deliver the book and the secure download link.
To let you restore a lost download link by email.
To send the newsletter, only if you asked for it.
To answer your messages and provide support.
To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

The exact legal grounds depend on where you live (for example performing a contract, your consent for the newsletter, our legitimate interest in security, and legal obligations). The precise framing will be confirmed before launch.

Who processes data for us

We use a small set of trusted providers to run the site: Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email and the newsletter), Cloudflare R2 (secure file storage), Neon (database), and Railway (hosting). Clerk is used only to protect the operator admin area, not for visitors. These providers may process data outside your country; appropriate safeguards will be confirmed before launch.

The newsletter

The newsletter is opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us. We do not use it to share or sell your address.

How long we keep it

Purchase and accounting records are kept for as long as the law requires [retention period to be confirmed]. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Download tokens expire quickly by design.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data, object to certain uses, or withdraw consent for the newsletter. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising. To make a request, email hello@purposeoverpaper.com.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections. Download links are tokenised and time limited. We never store full card numbers.

Children

This site is written for adults: parents, mentors, and educators. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
